Call the Local Times OKC plumbing line

Call (405) 400-0456

Calls go to the Local Times OKC answering line, not to a plumber's office. We connect you with a local pro we work with, and that business may pay us for the referral. Calls are recorded.

Leak or burst pipe

For water coming from a pipe, call the plumbing line above or a plumber below. 12 listed companies name leak detection on their own websites. Show the 12 plumbers whose sites name leak detection.

If water has already soaked floors or walls, drying them out is usually a separate company. The free water damage restoration cost estimator (on freecalculator.website, a site from the same owner as Local Times OKC) shows typical price ranges.

Clogged drain

17 listed companies name drain cleaning on their own websites. Show the 17 plumbers whose sites name drain cleaning. If the backup is in the sewer line rather than one drain, see sewer lines below.

Water heater

18 listed companies name water heater work on their own websites. Show the 18 plumbers whose sites name water heaters. Before you call, the free water heater replacement cost calculator gives an installed price range for tank or tankless, gas or electric.

For a gas water heater, the gas piping is licensed trade work too. Ask which license covers the gas work and look it up on the Construction Industries Board license search.

Sewer line or backup

In Oklahoma City, who pays depends on where the stoppage is. The City's sewer backups page says City crews repair the City main, while repairing or replacing the private sewer line from the house to the main is the owner's responsibility. City crews also don't clean up inside homes. Find out which side the blockage is on before anyone agrees to dig.

16 listed companies name sewer line work on their own websites. Show the 16 plumbers whose sites name sewer lines. The free sewer line repair and replacement cost calculator prices spot repair, trenchless lining and full replacement.

New install or repipe

7 listed companies name repiping and 6 name water softeners on their own websites. Show the 7 plumbers whose sites name repiping, or use the free water softener installation cost calculator.

Not sure what your water line is made of? The City's service line guide describes a scratch-and-magnet check: a magnet won't stick to lead, copper or plastic, but will stick to galvanized or iron pipe. The same page says private water service lines are the property owner's responsibility.

Need someone after hours

18 listed companies say on their own websites that they offer emergency or 24/7 service. We read each one's site and keep this note only where the site says so; we did not test response times. Show the 18 plumbers whose sites say they offer emergency or 24/7 service.

Plumbers by town

Each count includes companies based in that town and companies whose own website names it as a service area. Towns with their own page also list local water, sewer and permit facts.

All 47 plumbing companies we list

Why this order? Companies with more kinds of facts we checked in the last 6 months come first (website, service area, a dated update on their own site), then A to Z. 36 of 47 have at least one dated check. No business can pay to move up. State license check: pending. We're requesting the state's licensee list and will update this when it arrives. Until then, look up any plumber on the Construction Industries Board license search before you hire.

Before you hire a plumber

How to check a plumber's state license

Plumbing is one of the trades the Construction Industries Board (CIB) licenses. Its Are They Licensed? page links a search for electrical, mechanical and plumbing licensees (roofers have a separate one). The board's home repair tips say to get the contractor's license number and verify it is current, or call 405-521-6550.

Because Oklahoma has no state general contractor license, the plumber's own license is the thing to check: trade licenses are required for performing, or offering to perform, licensed trade work. A current license is not a work guarantee, since the board does not guarantee the quality of their work.

City registration and permits inside OKC

Inside the city limits, OKC says plumbing and mechanical contractors must also be registered with the City. Ask the company whether the job needs a city permit and who pulls it. The CIB also notes that local jurisdictions may have their own licensing, registration and permitting rules. Town pages above list the permit office for each town where we found it.

Where the City's pipes end and yours begin

Sewer: the City repairs its main; the private line from the house to the main is the owner's to repair, and the owner handles cleanup when a private line causes a backup (City of OKC). Water: private service lines are the responsibility of the individual property owner.

Questions people ask

Who fixes a sewer backup in Oklahoma City, me or the City?

It depends on where the stoppage is. The City of OKC says City crews repair the City main, while repairing or replacing the private sewer line connecting the house to the main is the home or property owner’s responsibility. City crews do not clean up inside homes.

Can I replace my own faucet in Oklahoma?

Often, yes, for a small repair on your own home. Oklahoma’s plumbing license law (59 O.S. 1017) lists exemptions that appear to cover minor repairs such as replacing a faucet, and some work by owners on their own homes, but we have not confirmed the exact conditions, such as whether you must live in the home. Before you start, ask your city, since the CIB says local jurisdictions may have their own licensing, registration and permitting rules.

How do I check a plumber’s license in Oklahoma?

Use the Construction Industries Board’s Are They Licensed? page, which links a search for plumbing licensees, or call the board at 405-521-6550 to verify that a license is current.

What happens when I call the Local Times OKC plumbing line?

The call goes to the Local Times OKC answering line, not to a plumber’s office. We connect you with a local pro we work with, and that business may pay us for the referral. Calls are recorded.

Do plumbers pay to be listed here?

No. Listings are free, and no one can pay to move up this page; the order is explained above. If you call our plumbing line, we may connect you with a plumber who pays us for that referral.

Why is one plumber listed above another?

Businesses with more kinds of facts we checked in the last six months come first: their website, a service area named on their own site, and a dated update on their own site. Ties are listed A to Z. Listings are free and no business can pay to move up.

How Local Times OKC lists and checks plumbers

Listings are free, and no business can pay to appear higher. Each checked fact on a card shows the date we checked it and links the page it came from: we confirm a listed website answers and shows the business's name or phone number, read the service area the business names on its own site, and look for a dated post or update there. Service tags come from pages on the business's own site that we read on September 29, 2026. Facts older than 6 months drop off. We do not use review stars or ratings from other sites. State license checks for plumbers are pending: we're requesting the state's licensee list, and each listing will show its license as Confirmed once checked. How we list and check businesses.
